THE ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME IS BASED ON ACTIVE AGEING AND THE ACTIVITIES ARE AIMED AT ACHIEVING THIS GOAL. THE MAIN ACTIVITIES ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO GROUPS.

1-Cultural Activities

IT workshop:

A great opportunity to learn one of the most important means of communication of our time and one that is firmly rooted in our current society. Daily workshops that aim to tackle IT concepts and ideas in a simple and practical way, working on the idea that computers have become an essential part of life.

Memory workshop:

The Memory Workshop is a memory training programme. This programme helps to improve the memory of people who do not have any particular condition (depression, dementia, etc), but who have objectively lost some of their memory, especially in relation to everyday situations. This affects the quality of life of senior citizens.

Laughter therapy workshop:

Laughter and a sense of humour are used as a tool for building self-esteem and the overall health of senior citizens, on a physical, emotional and mental level. Using games, visualisations, conscious breathing, laughter, etc, we create an atmosphere of sharing, which has many benefits for the group and individuals, including a strengthening of the immune system and greater mental clarity.

Craft workshops:

The aim of these workshops is to encourage personal and group-based artistic and creative ideas in senior citizens.

Dance/dance classes:

More senior citizens take part in this activity than any other and it is one of the healthiest. As well as involving gentle physical exercise, the dance steps encourage mental concentration and create a sense of personal satisfaction in the individual when they realise that they are doing it well.

Cultural classes:

Over the last few years, we’ve witnessed the popularity of general interest issues amongst senior citizens, meaning that it has become a focal point in the Social Tourism activities developed, both for private and public groups of senior citizens..

2 - Sports Activities

The concept of active, healthy and happy senior citizens needs to include physical activity and sport as an essential element, both in terms of health prevention and compensation and in relation to improvements in general well-being and greater independence. For example:

Keep-fit:

This activity works on flexibility, balance, relaxation etc. and promotes greater skill in carrying out daily activities.

Tai-Chi:

This activity hugely benefits a person’s mental and physical health, as it is done using relaxed, harmonious movements combined with breathing and mental concentration, so that exercise is taken without running the risk of injury.

Walking:

A very common form of exercise among senior citizens and a very healthy activity for the heart that improves circulation. Furthermore, if this activity is done on the sand, the positive effects multiply.
