Europe Senior Tourism launches its third campaign for 2011/2012 in October
(01/10/2011) Next 1 October the third season of the Europe Senior Tourism campaign gets underway for Europeans over the age of 55 who would like to enjoy an off-season holiday in Spain. The destinations for the 2011-2012 season are: Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza, the Costa del Sol, the Costa de la Luz, Almería, Granada, Costa de Castellón, Valencia Terra i Mar and Benidorm-Costa Blanca.

19.07.2011. The economic value generated by the Europe Senior Tourism programme in Spain over two years is estimated at €53.4 million.
Almost 100,000 tourists from 16 countries –Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, Portugal, Hungary, France, Denmark, the Netherlands and Slovakia– visited Spain over the two years of this pilot stage, with more than 67,875 heading for Andalusia, 16,299 opting for the Balearic Islands, 3,408 for the Region of Valencia and 11,083 for the Canary Islands.
Viajes Iberia, Viajes Barceló and Viajes Halcón’s temporary joint venture awarded the 2011-2012 Europe Senior Tourism contract
18.07.2011. The temporary joint venture made up of Viajes Iberia, Viajes Barceló and Viajes Halcón has been awarded the contract by SEGITTUR to manage the Europe Senior Tourism programme for the October 2011-April 2012 season.

Andalusia, the Balearic Islands and the Region of Valencia, destinations for the third programme
14.07.2011. Europe Senior Tourism is forging ahead, and the latest trips for those over 55, subsidised by the Spanish government, will start up in October. This will be the start of the third season available to senior citizens in over 15 countries in Europe, and will be managed by Mundosenior.
The third programme will begin in October with 46,875 places, which can be extended up to 93,750, in the Autonomous Regions of Andalusia, Balearic Islands and Region of Valencia.

(06/06/2011) The public contracting process to find a company to organise, manage, commercialise and execute the tours in the Europe Senior Tourism pilot programme began on Monday, 6 June. Any interested companies may present their bids before 27 June at SEGITTUR (Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas, S.A.).
