The Romanian government invites SEGITTUR to present its Europe Senior Tourism programme
25/09/2012. Europe Senior Tourism was among the projects presented during the “International Health Tourism Conference – Challenges and Opportunities” sponsored by the WTO and organised by the Romanian government's Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism and Ministry of Health.
The event was attended by the heads of both of the Ministries that organised the conference, in addition to the Secretary-General of the WTO, Taleb Rifai, who gave the opening address. The participants came from a wide range of countries and featured representatives in both the public and private sectors from India, Russia, Austria, Hungary and Turkey, among others.
The project's director, Elisa Domènech, introduced the Europe Senior Tourism programme and highlighted its social and economic benefits, in addition to the health benefits it represents for the travellers, and highlighted the programme as an example of public-private collaboration. The presentation was warmly received, particularly by the various travel agent and tour operator representatives attending the event, both from Romania and from other countries.
