The Europe Senior Tourism programme introduces new features in its 2010/2011 edition
(01/10/2010) The second season of the Europe Senior Tourism programme was launched last 1 October, and offers new destinations for European seniors over 55 who wish to enjoy a winter holiday in Spain. The coasts of Almería and Granada and the resorts of Gandía, Peñíscola and Benidorm in the Region of Valencia have been added to the original destinations of Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza, the Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz.

The Government and the Junta de Andalucía have signed the extension of the program Europe Senior Tourism
(24/09/2010) Joan Mesquida, the Secretary of State for Tourism and Trade, travelled to Huelva today to confirm the new 2010-2011 edition of the European social tourism programme “Europe Senior Tourism” in Andalusia. This agreement is the result of the understanding adopted by the Council of Ministers held last March in Seville, and will have a total cost of €6,570,000, of which 50% will be contributed by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and 50% by the Andalusian tourist board, Turismo Andaluz.

The Comunidad Valenciana enters the program Europe Senior Tourism
(23/9/2010) The Region of Valencia is set to take part in the second edition of the Europe Senior Tourism project after the confirmation of the agreement between the Secretary of State for Tourism, the Region of Valencia Tourist Board and SEGITTUR.
The Region of Valencia is offering 16,000 places between October 2010 and April 2011 in the destinations of Peñíscola, Gandía and Benidorm.

Senior Tourism Europe is presented at the World Congress of Social Tourism
(20/09/2010) The director of the Europe Senior Tourism project, Elisa Domènech, took part in the World Congress of Social Tourism held in Rimini between 19 and 23 September, where she presented the results of the first edition of the programme and the new developments for the second edition before an audience of representatives of associations, bodies and institutions from America, Africa and Europe.

The President of SEGITTUR presents in Poland the second edition of the program Europe Senior Tourism
(13/09/2010) Javier Bustamante, the president of SEGITTUR, travelled to Poland to present the second edition of the Europe Senior Tourism programme and to learn more about the programme's development through the tour operators who promote these trips in Poland. He was interviewed by various communications media, including the economics channel of Polish television (see photo), the most important tourism sector publication, the second largest national newspaper and a daytime news programme on TVP television.
